After viewing the some facts regarding community college published by the American Association of Community Colleges, a few figures really stood out to me. One of these was the fact that there are over 1,000 different community colleges in the United States, on average over 20 in each state. This number provides students all over the nation the opportunity to attend college and work their way up to earning an Associate Degree. Another statistic that stood out to me was the difference in the median earning of full-time employees varying on the different degrees earned, with a Bachelor’s Degree making almost twice as much as just a high school diploma. Perhaps the most astounding figure was the difference in the average annual tuition of community college as compared to 4 year colleges. The average community college tuition was just $3,660, while universities averaged an annual tuition cost of $10,230.
Most Frustrating Part of Writing
Writing has so many different challenging aspects, and I have definitely come into contact with almost all of them. For me, the most frustrating part of writing is just trying to make each and every thing I write the absolute best I can make it. This often results in me overcomplicating assignments, spending too much time on a specific phrase or word, and constantly revising and rewriting whatever I have written down. However, I do enjoy writing, for the most part, so I have at least grown to accept these faults. Each time I sit down to write, the only thing I can hope for is that I continue to improve and mature as a writer. Writing is never easy, and it should not be because if it is, whatever has been written cannot be of particular quality.
My New Favorite Song
My new favorite song is actually not at all a new song, it is not even knew to me, but just what I have been listening to the most recently these past few weeks. I rarely listen to new music because I don’t really listen to the radio and I don’t really like rap, which seems to mostly be what is released nowadays, or at least promoted the most. Back to the point, my current favorite song is Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!. I just love the energy of the song, specifically how upbeat it is, and just listening to it can boost my mood. How can you not just not nod your head and smile to the lyrics, “Goes the bang-bang-bang ’til my feet do the same”, because I know I cannot hold back whenever I hear it.
Biggest Social Media Pet Peeve
I just want to start out by saying I am by no means a supporter of mass social media and have almost removed myself from all forms of it, multiple times. My biggest grievance with social media has to be when people use it in the presence of others, and choose to partake in this online reality versus actually just being in the now and interacting with the people and things around them. For example, almost everywhere someone goes, the first thing one generally does it take a picture of the moment, which at face value is mostly fine to me. Taking a picture of yourself somewhere special and keeping it to look back at is fine, but this is not what people are doing; they are taking these pictures strictly to put onto a social media for other people to see and by doing this everywhere and doing it so often take away what makes it special. Instead of just enjoying the moment for oneself and appreciating wherever one is, they go straight to their phone, take a picture, and post it to social media for OTHER PEOPLE to see.

About This Blog
This blog is going to be about how I feel on a variety of subjects I have been assigned to write about for my English 101 class. I am unsure of what these topics will be about and cover, but I do know that it is going to be a very personal blog, and hopefully interesting.
